The long-awaited Blackmagic box camera is finally here with the Pyxis 6K and now the Pyxis 12K. The KONDOR BLUE Pyxis Cage is up to any rigging task. Each plate in this modular cage system is feature-packed to elevate the production experience. 

The Top and Bottom Plates take up half of the area front to back. These plates are fully symmetrical from left to right. This is ideal for several use cases—for instance when operating on a gimbal, this cuts the cage weight in half while providing essential mounts. Cages A & B include two sets of Top and Bottom Plates and can be rigged with our Pro-Blade SSD Top Handle with our new dual NATO mounting kit. This solution provides insane record limits (1, 2, or 4TB drives) with maximum stability. 

The Top and Bottom Plates can be reversed and mounted under-slug for challenging jib and/or dolly shots. Much like the Sony FX6 and Burano cages, the front ARRI mounts are 60mm apart and work perfectly to mount 15mm rods with the KB M12 Anti-Twist Mounts. For true power freedom, run both the native Sony BP-U battery and a V-Mount or Gold Mount plate off of the back of the Top Plate or with a Baseplate kit.

The Left and Right Side Rosette Ribs have been optimized for multiple operation modes. They include an integrated ARRI style 60-tooth rosette with M6 mounting standard, NATO rail with a safety pin, and multiple ¼”-20 and ⅜”-16 anti-twist mounts. Best of all, they can be used at either end of the camera and even flipped upside down to place the rosette to the bottom—an excellent option for those looking to rig extension arms and grips for shoulder and Easy Rig configurations. The Side Rails are also compatible with Drop-in filter lens adapters such as the MOFAGE Poco and Breakthrough Photography DFM adapters.

The Side Plate provides a wide range of options from dual cold shoes, anti-twist mounts, removable safety-pin NATO, in-line bubble level, and more. The Side Plate can be mounted with the NATO at the top or bottom of the plate. The NATO rail can also be removed so tripod plates can be mounted in either orientation for vertical shooting. The mounting row is directly centered with the sensor for consistent paralaxing when used on a gimbal or tripod. Two 3mm anti-twist pins are also stored in the back of the plate for accessories that need to be mounted which can be done through the Side Plate’s center mount. 1.5mm and 3mm hex tools are magnetically mounted to the plate for easy access.

Built for adaptability on the go, each plate mounting bolts are held captive in place. Plates mount with as little hardware as possible while remaining insanely solid on the rig. Speed, customization, and flexibility are baked into the KONDOR BLUE’s Blackmagic Pyxis Cage’s DNA. Combined with your creativity, this setup will have no bounds.

The Talon XL camera rig top handle is the bigger brother to our Talon Top Handle. It features the same molded rubber pad, which has been contoured to perfectly fit your hand.

Not only is the Talon XL 20mm/.75” longer, it also features a remote trigger run/stop button. This makes operating the camera from the Talon XL rig top handle a dream.

Much like its namesake, the Talon XL camera rig top handle is meant to clasp all of your accessories with a range of mounting options. Starting at the front of the top handle, a short NATO rail allows for quick accessorizing. This top handle also allows you to add any of our Monitor Mounts via the ⅜” ARRI Mount. On the top side of the handle, it features a REC button and cold shoe mount, two more ⅜ ARRI mounts pre-loaded with ⅜ to ¼ bushings, a NATO rail, and our signature bubble level. Finally, the back side has an additional cold shoe mount with a threaded ¼” 20 mount perfect for wireless mic receivers or other small accessories.

The Talon XL mounts via a NATO clamp and has a built-in 4mm hex tool to save you in a pinch with mounting other popular accessories. Designed with versatility and comfort in mind, the Talon XL is ready for anything.

The Shoulder Pad Air has been redesigned from the ground up for weight savings and more rigging configurations. The updated version has cut the weight in half while maintaining over a dozen mounting locations. The beloved air-inflated shoulder pad remains unchanged, but the machined frame’s hourglass shape allows for better contour and comfort, especially on your collarbone. 

For those who enjoyed the nato rail adjustment on the previous version—don’t worry, we thought of you as well! The center “plus sign” channels have been intentionally cut to perfectly align with the KONDOR Blue Monitor Cage NATO Rails. The Anti-twist NATO Clamp can be mounted to the bottom of the included railblock for fast and secure adjustments along the NATO rail.

The anti-twist mounts on each end of the shoulder pad are 60mm apart and can be used to mount directly to your 15mm. The center ⅜”-16 ARRI anti-twist mounts can be mounted to or through both male and female 3mm anti-twist pins. This provides an incredible way to mount the KONDOR Blue Battery Plates in a streamlined configuration. With this setup, the battery acts as an effective counterweight. 

The ends of the Shoulder Pad Air are at a 45º angle and when mounted to 15mm rods via the M12 Anti-twist Mounts, it makes for the perfect gunstock-style pad. This is an awesome setup for EasyRig or handheld use.

The all-new KONDOR BLUE Reversible Rosette Extension Arms are made for users of any level from run-n-gun solo creators to Hollywood DP’s and camera operators. The arms are durable, comfortable, and stable at full extension making them ready for even the largest rig build outs. 

After testing and observing a range of users and styles, we’ve opted to integrate an additional handhold on the extension arms themselves. The custom G10 grip has been contoured and textured to be comfortable with or without gloves. The oversized ratcheting knobs are also easy to adjust in any condition and have intelligent features such as a captive lock to keep the knobs from falling out during adjustment. And to top it off, the ¼” 20 mounts are perfect for the KONDOR BLUE Mondo Tie cable management system. 

The arms are fully reversible—no need for left/right options—and have 72mm or 2.8” of extension. The laser engraved markings make it easy to match the length of both arms or to remember your preferred position once packed down for transit. Once the arms are extended, they reveal a dual NATO rail which can be useful to mount accessories to the inside or outside of your rig. A go-to option is to mount your monitor off of a Magic Arm placing the monitor directly in view.

We took our 501 Baseplate back to the drawing board to give it a complete overhaul to add in some much-needed functionality. At the top of the list was to get as many of our camera cages to 85mm sensor to rail center offset for matte box compatibility. There are many height-adjustable baseplate options, but most start off too tall, mitigating the need for vertical height adjustment. It’s also easy for them to become loose and wobble or slip during a shoot. We addressed this by machining precise 1mm adjustments with corresponding laser engravings to make dialing in the baseplate height easy and accurate. We even have a guide for each cage we offer to let you know the exact position your baseplate should be set to.

We’ve also improved the 15mm rail clamps to have over double the clamping force without marring your rails. The M4 ratchet knobs are also captive and you won’t need to worry about losing them. Whether you’re using the 501 Drop-in Plate or mounting directly to the Baseplate Riser Block, you’ll be able to mount multiple bolts to any camera cage to prevent twisting. Swapping out mounting options is a breeze with slotted access from the underside of the baseplate. 

You have options for tripod mounting solutions as well. Mount tripod plates directly to the base with ⅜” and ¼” helicoil mounting holes or use the built-in dovetail clamp which pairs perfectly with our Lightweight Dovetail Plates.
